Drawn during an Artist Residency in South Africa, the woven carpet depicts the impressive arsenal
of private security features that dominate the view in Johannesburg’s streets: walls and barriers,
electric fences and barbed wire, surveillance cameras and guards, thorny roses and “roaring” lions.
